Gambling Debt Honored by Walking Streets Nude

Now the Chinese gambler has satisfied his obligation, reportedly a $21,000 soccer wager loss, by parading around Shanghai naked.

A man in China has recently stumbled on an interesting way to pay off a gambling loss.

Gambling debts are in the news lately; sometimes gambling on credit turns out to not have been the best idea, and the gambler finds himself losing more than he wishes to pay. Charles Barkley is a noted case; his debt to the Wynn and subsequent public measures to collect it show that, while a debt may be affordable, a player can always hope for a better avenue to settle the bet, a negotiated substitute for cash.

Pamela Anderson famously paid off her poker debt to Rick Salomon in barter rather than cash. Anderson squared her debt of over a hundred thousand dollars by engaging in a night of sex with Salomon, which led to a disposable five-month marriage between the two.

Now the Chinese gambler has satisfied his obligation, reportedly a $21,000 soccer wager loss, by parading around Shanghai naked. Although the nudist would not speak, two men followed him, and informed onlookers they were present to be sure he honored his debt.

The gambler walked the streets for over three hours silently. Police were called, but he would not speak with them, either, or don a pair of shorts the officers offered him.

The police were forced to block his path until he entered a wooded area, their report showed. They were apparently unable to arrest him because of his refusal to speak. This is quite enlightening, in New York, refusal to speak to the police often leads to the report stating the defendant "fell down several flights of stairs and hit his own head sharply while entering the squad car."

Still, bartering to settle debts is allowable, as long as the barter is agreed upon; here's hoping Jennifer Tilly extends herself way too far at the poker tables. I know even the Las Vegas Strip would see heads turn at that.
